99 spec fog light question...
Can the bulbs be replaced w/ after market in order to match turn and headlamps? I have replaced mine w/ piaa bulbs and want to keep the lighting uniform. Thanks. P.S. I would rather stick to jdm oem to match my front end instead of going aftermarket foggers. Thanks Garret....

Garret,
In response to your comment about sticking w/ JDM OEM fog lights vs. aftermarket, technically speaking (if I'm not mistaken), the jdm fogs are the exact same as aftermarket Raybrigs. In fact, they're made by Raybrig, but supplied to Mazda for the 99 spec bumper (as an option.) Not all the J-spec stuff is made by fancy schmancy japanese companies. Just like the fogs being Raybrigs, the JDM turn signals on the 99 spec bumper (and others like the c west etc) are made by Stanley. So 2 things...you can save $$ and get the stuff aftermarket (like the fogs) rather than from Mazda, and you can pretty much do anything to the fogs as you would w/ regular aftermarket Raybrigs. If I'm wrong, anyone plz feel free to correct me. |
do u have any info on Raybrigs?
In response to the above: I switched out the stock bulbs w/ PIAA xtreme white bulbs. Headlamp bulbs: Model# H-208 12V-60/55w Running lights(in turn lamps): Model # H-222 12V/5w I recommend them for better night vision. They also look better than the oem yellowish tint bulbs. The two above sets of bulbs will match in color and densitiy. |
