Why can't I edit my own posts?
Wouldnt it be easier if the OP was allowed to edit their own post so we could do this ourselves?
|
It would absolutely be easier...but it would also be an incredibly unwise thing to do for reasons that become apparent if you sit down and think about it. ;)
 |
ie, one week: this and that for sale, 11,000. next week, it's gone. :\

high post count. like 200 (anything less requires moderator approval)

These two points have to be addressed...maybe some other members will see this and remember it for future reference...

Yeah, that ain't ever gonna happen here if the Buyers and Sellers have the posted replies, not PM's, text messages or Emails, in a timeline to prove who had the first, publicly validated sale contract, which a posted reply represents.

Rely on a high post count, look at the iTrader feedback score and then check the Bad Guy board if you still have any doubts about buying/selling with a member on this website. I'm probably going to pull this entire conversation into a relevant "How to use the board" thread and make it a sticky. Good questions all. |
i understand the reasoning behind it all. ive been a member (different user name) since 1998. just sucks when i post up on other boards (never got one through on the 3rd gen forum for some r1 seats i was trying to sell. just gave up) or add stuff to the 2nd gen. So far youve been the only person th ats responded to anything ive posted.

And here we are in the new home, ready to save other new members from scratching their heads bald wondering.
Good question, good participation and now your FS thread is clean again! To recap: Members have 15 minutes (or is it 30?) to edit their posts or threads but can't delete them once submitted. It takes the Moderator of that board to edit or delete a post or thread after the window closes. |
editing post (read the sticky)
Maybe i am confused, i read through the edit post sticky and understand and agree with parts of it.
For example though, say i want to edit a post that i have parts for sale in, and have sold one item i want to put sold next to the item OR remove it from the list so that people do not continue to inquire on it. Is this possible? |
You have 30 minutes to edit a post. To get an edit after that window closes on a post, you need to contact a moderator of that board and ask for the item to be marked SOLD! We will not delete parts from an ad nor will we delete a thread once all the parts are sold. It will just be closed.
