Why can't I edit my own classifieds post?

Subject is the basic question. I read the sticky on this same question, but its last post dates back to 2011, so not sure if that info is still relevant...

Anyway, back to my question, I have an ad on the 2nd gen parts section for a bunch of parts. My intent for editing my OP is simply to (a) Add additional parts to it that I now have available; (b) Add pictures of those additional parts; and (c) Mark items SOLD when they sell. That's it - very simple, seems silly to me that an OP is unable to do this.

Thanks!

i believe there's a time limit to be able to edit it. just add posts to the thread to keep it updated.

I guess I could do that, but it would be so much easier for me and the folks reading to be able to edit the OP. That way folks reading who presumably want to buy something won't have to wade thru what could become pages of replies just to get to the relevant info - it would all be in post #1.

The reason that has been stated by mods is that it leaves a paper trail. That way you can't edit prices and other things to scam a buyer. The documentation is tedious, but it protects the seller and the buyer in the long run.

Are you joking, I can't edit my own post. I need to change the price. Come on there must be a way to edit?

i think there is a 30 min window to edit a post. after that if u wish to reduce the price, just reply to the post with the reduced price. if u realize a mistake after the 30 min window, again just reply with the corrections. but seriously though it's not that big of a deal.
