Post count?

Is post count same for replies and starting new threads?

I don't really understand this, never used a forum so heavily moderated. I am just trying to gain information as well as get some of my questions answered from a streamlined source.

In the NEW Member's section all threads are submitted for approval,so they do not get posted if it does not contain the necessary info needed( as in an INTRO) or if the Question submitted in TECH is SO repetitive that it has been beaten to death(like how much air should I put in my tires.).

Once you get your feet wet in the NEW section then it ie fairly easy to post in other sections as long as your post count is sufficient to access that particular section.
This is to help to deter any Spamming, thread crapping or unnecessary replies that are totally unrelated to the the original thread at hand.
If you look at some sections (like Sec GEN Specific) you will see a bit of teasing and whatnot, but it is usually lighthearted and done by veterans of the Forum that just shake their heads when they see something that should have been "obvious" to the so called "Worked with cars all my life" poster..yet the guy is 17!!
BUT at the same time the Info is given and it is often detailed as many of the "seasoned" guys have seen the problem before.
The Forum tries to keep the Info Up front and accessable,so if you suddenly do not see a post like "oh cool.."..then it got Wiped because it just didn't help anyone by giving "cool" as a FIX to the problem!..so it got FIXED,and the thread remained Full of info and not Crap.

I hope that helps a bit.
It may be a little over-moderated But Honestly when I look at other Car Forums I think we got a good one here, with a good group of guys that are willing to help anyone,anytime..and Yes they do stick up for each other!

So how long till I can post in the 3rd gen forums? I recently got a FD, and looking to start building, but I wanted some second opinions from some people on certain parts, ect.

depends on if you read the important rules that will help you gain posts.
they say "read before posting" and are conveniently located at the top of the Intro section.Nicely colored little suckers too!
You will know if you have sufficient posts when you enter the section.
Guys can sit all year at one post and can still navigate the forum but not post...whether you want to increase your post count is up to you.

post count?

Ok , so I have read the sections on info highlighted in bold colors... but Im still confused on how to increase my post count. Am I increasing the count by commenting on a post...like now?

reading a thred doesnt add to your post count, only a reply with jump your post count up

^ And then, it depends on what section you are replying in.

If the thread is approved then that counts as a post.
any replies that you make afterwards are posts too.If you reply to another member's thread then your reply counts as a post.

Anything posted The LOUNGE does not give you Post count..(it's crap talk anyways so why should it!).
you need FIFTY Posts to post there anyways,so not important..Have fun in the Real Forum..(the Car side of it!)
