Stuck in new member section!
Hi, I have 10 posts and still stuck in the New Member Section. This use to be on of my fav sites particularly just to window shop and day dream about my next FD build. But since I never registered this site has made it a goal to make the barrier of entry very high. Very disappointed....

Smart enough to be stupid
As a new member, I too am suffering some 'learning pains', and may be frustrated somewhat by the 'trainimg rules'.
But I have read some posts by the 'old hands' which also make a sound case why these policies are beneficial. Before you throw the baby out with the bathwater, consider the shoe worn on the other foot! It may be uncomfortable to a degree, but the policy may have merit.
In the meantime, join me in exercising a little patience! (and anyone who knows me will tell you ... not MY forte!).

If you guys only knew how many people, over the years, have made and account, sold or bought parts, got over, then disappeared with no trace and made life shitty for real members. The rule was made to protect people from getting ripped off, and makes this site that much safer when it comes to spending money on parts for these rare cars.
10 posts isn't that many if you actually like RX-7s. Post a few pics of yours! Comment on someone else's! Tell us a joke. Tell us how good/bad/fast/slow your old car was.
There's lotsa stuff to banter back and forth about.
For example: New Zealander Scott Dixon tied up the Indycar series yesterday at Sonoma. He's the only guy besides AJ Foyt who's won 5 championships. A.J. did it over 50 years ago.

Thanks for you guys fixing the barrier! I'm a long term member and builder of my FD RX7, but last year it stopped allowing me to access the for sale/wanted section, bc I assume I don't have enough posts!

Can Post Only in New Member Section
While I do understand the “training wheels” so to say with the posting restrictions on new members, it is frustrating as well. Maybe instead of limiting someone strictly to posting within the new member section, what about just preventing them from posting or even viewing the classifieds section? Just thinking that might be a nice middle ground between keeping the forums safe but still allowing new members to take part in other discussions as well.

Have RX-7, will restore

We are working on eliminating the restrictions all together. We understand the pros and cons of limiting new members and the potential for scamming by new members. We do recognize that if a scammer joins and decides to scam people, he can do it at 1 post or at 100 posts. This is partially why we have decided to remove the restrictions. It will be in effect as soon as we work out the final details.

If your serious about owning, maintaining and preserving an RX7 the minimum post requirements are laughably easy. You only value what you've earned. I say stop complaining and contribute.

Regardless, you registered almost a year ago. Looks like your first post was about 6 months later in May of this year. You now have 4 posts total, including the two in this thread. The brutal pace of your participation in the forum must be killing you.
