"bump"?

ok, so i've been reading the clasifieds, and i'm wondering what "bump" means when the seller just puts that in the post.

it "bumps" the thread back to the top of the list of threads. otherwise it would eventually get pushed down far enough to a 2nd page. basically it keeps the thread alive.

LOL...but yea, bumps are to get the thread back in the "spotlight"...gets annoying after awhile, as obviously most of the time if you have to bump a thread, it says no one cares about wat you have or have to say...

Not true at all. Bump's help at alot of times. Sometimes when nobody answers a question to something technical or does not respond to a Classifieds ad means nobody has an answer, or you did not catch the right eye in the Classifieds sections. Bumps have helped ALOT of people out in the Classifieds when it comes to views of a thread. Somebody had an FD up for sale for around 4-5 weeks and had alot of tire kickers, a forum buddy saw there signature, responded in the thread to tell them good luck, the car was sold cash within the next week.

However, constant bumps are very annoying.
