82 rx7 wont start unless held above 3500 rpms

Hello, I have an 82 rx7 with 12a on a stock carb. The rats nest and ac was removed by the previous owner. I've owned the car now about a year and a half, it was my daily for 8 months (surprisingly good in the snow). I took the engine out about 7 months ago to rebuild and put a medium bridge port on the engine. The rebuild went smoothly and getting the engine back in wasn't an issue, but now I can't get the car to run correctly (if you want to consider it running at all). When I attempted to first start the car it did nothing at all just turned over like there was no spark. Eventually with a can of starter fluid it made a few pops and then died. I read from a forum that if you put a little oil down the carb, it should help with sealing of the rotors after a rebuild. I did this and it fired up but would only run if I held it above 3500 rpms and it ran, but rough; I also had to hold it wide open before it would start but I could let off after it started. All of the plugs are new and all have spark and the fuel pump was replaced a year ago now. It's been almost a week now of changing timing and fuel pressure and there is no change in how it is running. When I first put it in, the oil metering was put to the first two vacuum lines on the left of the carb plate. I figured out what I think is the correct vacuum set up from these helpful instructions. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwO...gyODVyUzg/view . I think it could be the vacuum lines but I'm really lost. Sorry for the length of my post, just wanted to get as much detail as possible. Any help would be great, thanks!
