Wiring wideband to E6X
 

Hey, need to wire my wideband into the Haltech, which wire do I wire it to? Do I just wire then wideband into the regular O2 connection for the wideband or is there a seperate input for widebands?

what wideband are you using?

i use an lm-1 which has a programable analog output (2 wire, signal and ground) which i can wire into my wolf's wb input and it will think its hooked up to a heated wb 02 sesnsor

Im assuming haltech uses the same setup for there widebands (2 wire and you just give the heater circut a switched ignition) so it should work

after looking at the output's from the other models, if your model has the same output thers no reason why it shouldnt work. the haltech should use a 0-5v refrence

Most wideband controllers today have a 0-5v and a 0-1v output that can be fed into the haltech or what ever ECU you use to be able to datalog the signal through it and also if possible do closed loop.

Run the white wire (0-5V wideband output) into the Haltech Spare A/D input (red/black wire). Configure the Spare A/D to read O2 sensor. This will allow you to datalog in actual a/f ratios without having to do the voltage conversion in your head. You can then connect the gray wire output (0-1V narrowband) from the PLX to the O2 sensor input of the Haltech for use in closed loop mode if so desired. The wideband output from the PLX can also be hooked up to the O2 input. But the datalog will just show the voltage and you'll have to do the math ((voltage * 2) + 10) for an a/f ratio.

Is this Spare A/D input located on one of the two 3 pronged connectors that are inside the cabin at pretty much the same side of the haltech connector?

The E6X is NOT wideband compatible, as far as A/F ratio display is concerned. You can, however input the 0-5v signal, and have a conversion chart from v out. to A/F.

Yes, the extra plug is provided for this input. However, if you are using the int. 2.5BAR MAP sensor, then this channel will not be selectable, as the MAP sensor will be on this input.

I have an external 3 bar map sensor. And a friend of mine has hooked his wideband to his e6k and tells me he's getting better gas mileage during highway driving.

I already have that white wire running into my PLX gauge. I'm guessing I have to split that 1 white wire coming out of the wideband 'computer box thing' and run it to the gauge and to the haltech system. Is this going to effect the reading by splitting the signal?

I have an Innovate LC1 that I'll be connecting to the Spare A/D input on the E6X. In the LC1 manual, it says that the heater ground wire needs to have a common ground with the ECU. For this should I ground that wire in the same spot that my ECU is, or can I just plug in that wire into the ground signal on the Spare A/D connector? wouldnt that be the same ground, persay?

reviving an old thread...when you hook up the wideband's output to the R/B wire on the on the spare A/D connector, do you have to put ground and +5V on the B and O wires?

i need to know this as well. Other threads simply say to connect to r/b wire.. nothing else...

I never followed through because it will never read true wideband AFR's. We must make a conversion chart for voltaGE. But again, voltage is not an option under spare a/d.
