As far is wiring in a Flying Lead kit (all wires come loose and with no connectors so you have to do it your self, is not that hard just time consuming, specially if you know your way around the different components on the engine that need to be used/connected. If you have experience doing alarm systems or car audio this helps.

But, if you've never done an EMS installation, it is recommended that you find a knowleadgable tuner/installer with the system you want to use and the car you want to use it on, that way it all goes with no problems.

Also, you can try to contact someone who already has done this sort of thing and get them to help, but its best to leave this sort of thing to the pros. ;)

As far as advantages go, well, TONS!, an aftermarket EMS, when properly tuned, can render a whole lot better results than the factory ECU.

Hope that helps.
