What is the Best setting for starting the engine...
What are the best settings in the haltech for starting the engine when its cold or hot how high should the bars be in the post start, coolant map, and primer map.
And maybe even timing. |
the basemap usually works fine.
i'd play with that stuff only if you have startup problems. if you do, grab a pen and paper and write down the conditions at which it's occuring.....coolant temp, air temp, timing, etc etc. when you have your parameters figured out, it's easier to visualise. |
Primer Map is used only for cranking.
If the engine doesn't crank over, mess with this map. Once the engine cranks over, if it doesn't start, it's a combination of the main fuel map and the coolant map. I've written a thorough write-up on how to deal with hard starting 13B's in another thread - you might want to read some of the other threads in here. I find the Post Start only causes headaches, and you can just zero it out. -Ted |
