Which way to go E6X or PFC ?

I want to install a new ECU in a Automatic, streetport, to4s single turbo 93 FD. I am also looking at the new PCS tranny computer to run it. What do most folks feel are the pro's/cons of the two ECU;s ? ( e6x or PFC )

Thanks, Tom

Anyone ?

Go Power FC.
With the automatic tranny, that complicates things a lot.

If you go Haltech, I'd recommend a piggy-back install over the stock ECU.

any valid reasons behind that statement?

id recomend the e6k over the x, theres quite a few irritaing little problems with the x.
that is if you decide to go ems

I have an E6X up and running just fine in my FC. I am not aware of any X specific problems. However, d0 Luck, RETed is one of the most experienced international tuners for RX7's, particularly on Haltechs. His experience and reputation are valid reasons enough for him to say that. If that's his take on a Haltech with an auto tranny, I'd listen to it.

Furthermore, if you check up on the stock wiring diagrams between the ECU and the automatic transmission unit yourself, you'd see why he says that. ;-)

I am personally in favor of using a Haltech because it allows (requires?) you to simplify your engine bay and run new electrical circuits in a smarter and better manner than stock. It is not difficult to do, with proper planning and forethought, but the PFC is certainly easier to install. The automatic transmission integration will tip the scales in favor of the PFC, but if you want true performance, get a manual tranny and a Haltech. That's my recommendation.

DigitalSynthesis has 2 very good points, 1. the PFC is ideal for the auto tranny car, but ive seen the commander and its a pretty steap learning curve to get familiar with that thing to tune it right, but, if you are not looking for all out monster performance and power, the PFC would sufice. How ever, if major power is your goal, the Haltech/manual tranny option would be the proper way to go, you would be eliminating all that wire cluter, the rats nest and you can get all your gauges to work even.

Thanks my opinion.
