Trigger noise at idle
I have an E8 running a factory FC ignition system. I have allways been having trigger noise issues at idle Ign system is set up correctly, variables are charge time 4.5 Trigger filter 1 gain 2 Home filter and gain both 2.
Again, I have no issues above 1k to 1100 or so RPM, but the noise that is there makes the idle bouncy. I have tried adjusting the gains, and filters, and I can fix it but I run into noise problems at higher rpm, and that is what cause me to blow a previous motor I had. any suggestions? Thanks. |
Keep the CAS wires away from the alternator and the spark plug wires?

Have you tried leaving the gain at zero and filters to 1 or 2 on both trigger and home?
Maybe it would also be a good idea to check your CAS, see what kind of condition its in inside. Sometimes the wires in them tend to get brittle and crack and exposing all the wires inside at several spots. |

Maybe it would also be a good idea to check your CAS, see what kind of condition its in inside Also tried, soldering the pickup wires directly to the CAS with silver solder at least twice different known good leading and trailing coils with new spark plugs and new spark plug wires (10 MM magnecore) and new OEM plugs old original spark plug wires (to see if it gets worst, it doesn't), in fact I had the plug wire come off at a trailing coil the other day and there was no change in how the haltech was detecting ign, at all. BTW, its worst when its cold |
