Still problems with E6X

I finaly got my car to the dyno on friday and was so happy that i we where gooing to tune the engine.

Every thing was going good, untill we reached 5000 rpm and 0.8kg boost. Then the car just stutterd and would not rev higher. Plain and simple ignition problem. I think we tracked it down to bad coils, but not 100% sure. The car revs fine above 5000 rpm without load. But im still thinking there is more.

The car is a FD with a Garret T04E ar.96. Using stock ignition system with a HKS Twin Power. Also using 550cc pri and 1600cc sec.

We also have problems with the E6X that it does not respond very fast when doing changes. We tryed to change the timing 5 degrees and could not hear any difrence in the car.

And when tuning the fuel map, it sometimes does not do any thing with the AF even if do 3 clicks upp and down. And sometimes it does alot on the AF.

So do i have a bad E6X or what?

The ECU was at haltech this winter due to a burnt injector driver. But im not sure if they have done anything els to it.

Im starting to get tierd.

What kind of gain settings do you have on the trigger and home signals, its been acknowledged by a few people that using too much gain will cause unwanted noise to filter through and hurt performance, even hit a rev limiter like miss due to the gain being above 1.

As far as the ECU reacting slow, what kind of pc/laptop are you using, what version of Halwin, and how are you connected to the ECU, seral or USB?

What is the serial number and firmware version of your ECU? Did haltech perform any updates that you would know of?

Stock FD coils?
That would do it. :(

At idle?
Maybe at idle, but I don't it does much under heavier load...

Arrow up / arrow down???
If so, this doesn't surprise me.

Try PageUp and PageDown???

Using latest Halwin and using usb and win xp. On a new HP computer. And the gain is set to 0. Only way my car will start. And using Diveded By 1.

I must check the serial number and firmware version later today.

Oh and one more thing, When timing the engine it lines up at 73 degrees when using the hitman way of locking the timing at -5 and getting the signal from T1.

Is 73 degrees to much?

Don't you have an FD?
I think the settings is supposed to be 65?
But this is an E6X, right?
All those E6K settings do not necessarily work with the E6X.
If you hit the mark, that's all that matters - isn't the FD have a "tab" at -10?

If you're wondering, "73" is not excessive.

Yeah i have a FD and at 65 it does not line up at all. I will try and get my hand on another timing gun. It might be defektive. ANd yes it's an E6X.
