starting problems with e6x
i bought my car with the haltech e6x installed. i pulled the motor to do a rebuild and im having trouble starting now. Im not getting any fuel. Im going to pick up a timing light to see if im getting spark but i doubt it. I checked my cas and according to the haynes its ok. The wiring seems like it is ok as well. Im running out of ideas of what is wrong. What should i check next?

If you are getting rpms, the you might want to check if your injectors are enabled, and wired up properly. |
So it was running, then you pulled the engine and swapped in another? If you haven't messed with anything in the Haltech settings while you were swapping engines the problem most likely lies outside of the Haltech itself.
Like Claudio asked, do you have an RPM reading while cranking? Do you have fuel pressure? If you have both of those I like to take a spare CAS and spin it by hand and listen for the injectors to click. Pull the fuel pump fuse before doing this so you don't flood the engine. This will let you hear if the injectors are firing over the noise of the starter spinning the engine. Fresh rebuilds can be a bitch to start sometimes. |
ok im an idiot, i was splicing into the 12v ignition power to use for my boost controller and somehow i managed to connect both of those lines to a switched ignition power, one that shuts off when you engage the starter.... no wonder it wasnt working.
so now i have another problem (go figure) i can get it to turn over and i read rpm and i am getting fuel and spark. but i cant get it to start, it will turn over and ill hear it try to start but then it dies. ive been trying to start it on my origonal map which was setup for the stock ports and stock fpr. now im running a half bridge and 40psi through my new regulator. i am using a zero throttle map. what sort of injector pulse lenghts should i have, im running stock 550primary injectors and 1680 secondarys, the car is a s5 tII. Thanks for allthe help |
