My ATS sensor is 14mm X 1.5 and the H20 Temp sensor is 3/8 NPT.

the manual says on pg 15 - ATS 14mm X 1.5 but mine is definatly not. i believe it is 3/8 NPT after looking at it. i just used the stock ATS for now.

Does it look the same size as the water temp sensor?

Bacon Sep 13, 2002 11:04 AM

yes.... it boggled my mind...what im gonna do is tap a blank piece of stock with 3/8npt and see if the sensor starts fine b4 i go taping my uim ;)

why not try it in the hole for coolant?

I always thought the later Aussie models had the M14 AIT sensors.&nbsp The U.S. ones (bought from an official Haltech U.S. dealer) all came with the 3/8"NPT ones.

No no, dont use the stock ATS... Use the haltech one, definately. The coolant sensor you may use the stock one, but something as critical as the air temp, use the appropriate sensor.

So your saying a stock GM sensor is better than a stock Mazda one? Seems to me theyd be somewhat equal.

Does anyone know the thread size on the stock ATS?
