simple question about extra wire removal
Im wiring up my ex6, I dont need the idle speed motor control, 2 of the wires on the cas/reluctor/whatever and a few other assorted ground and power wires.
what is the RIGHT way to handle extra wires just cut them out? bundle them up in case someday i need them? |

I guess it depends on the installer?
If the Haltech is never going to move, you can either cut them short or just de-pin the harness to remove the excess wires. For customers, if there is enough space, I just bundle them and tie them out of the way. In case the Haltech does get moved, the extra wires just might come in handy. I cap all the bare wire ends to prevent possibiliy of shorts. -Ted |

I just de-pinned from the ecu connector, Im going to save the wire in case I need it later.
do you guys know by chance what they grey wire in the trailing coil connector is for? there are 2 tan wires for power white and pink go to the haltch yellow is tach signal I cant figure what grey is. |
There's a "feedback" wire that goes back to the ECU to tell it that the igniter is working, you dont connect that, im not sure if thats the grey color, i always leave the stock connector wires in there after the connector so i have something to disconnect if later the car needs to be taken apart.
But thats probably what it is. |
I used the stock coil connectors to, I really hate to permnantly wire anything.
Im running the power wires seperate from the signal wires that go to the haltech, 1 10gage wire for each coil into the car to a 30amp relay and a switch |
