s5 omp with e6k?

can the e6k control the electric oil metering pump on a series five? (how about the e11 for that matter)

I don't know. Some people install a S4 front cover and S4 oil metering pump. (I just happen to have 1 of each for sale) Then all you need is the little rod that goes from the throttle linkage the omp and your set.

well this is going in my gsl-se, and so i will be installing that front cover.. so i will have to drill and tap new holes either way.

No, after setting the E6K to run ROTARY and ADVANCED mode, you only end up with ONE extra output - you need at least 4 extra outputs to control the E-OMP.

The E11 has like 7 extra after configuring for rotary, so it can do this no problem.

what else needs those extra outputs to run?

(i still donot know that much about the haltechs, but trying to learn quickly)

Um, I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to ask, but in reference to the E11...

You just need to tell the Haltech via the laptop you want to connect the outputs to the OMP - that's it.&nbsp Once it's wired up, and the correct software change has been made, you can adjust the OMP maps via the laptop.

the question was what else would you use those extra outputs for? i.e. injectors, coils, fan control, etc. ???

i come from the carb world, and so my knowledge of efi (and specifically the haltechs) is not up to par.

Whatever you want...
There are options for...

Electric fan
NOS switch
Trans stall lock-up
VTEC/MIVEC
Intercooler fan
Intake manifold switching - i.e. Toyota TVIS
Auxiliary fuel pump

That's just off the top of my head...there's a bunch more I can't think of right now.

beautiful... i was worried that you were going to say that those outputs would be needed for the injectors and what have you... but i guess if i go with the e11, then i would run the electric omp and e-fan (which was going to be a question for a nother thread. now you saved that).

thanks ted

Nah, those are extra outputs outside of the outputs already being used for a two rotor which includes 4 fuel injectors and 3 ignition channels for a typical set-up.

Good luck!

Guys,

The E6K cant control the oil metering pump, the best option is to change the front cover from a series 4 manual injectrion, but that also means you need the part that couples to the rod with the primary butterfly shaft or no go.

As for the E11 it has built in firmware and outputs specifically designed to control the S5 and S6 oil metering pump.

Im a Haltech dealer, so any questions you might got, shoot me with them.

The E11V1 or V2 uses the four idle motor wires for the OMP control. So even with the E11 on the 20B (using all 12 drive outputs) you can still control the OMP.

The E6K or E6X cannot control the OMP, although I think if everyone begs Haltech enough, they can probably work on a firmware upgrade for that, as the existing hardware in all the E6's seem to be capable of it.

Hehe, i like that, "beg haltech enough"

It could be possible to do it though the idle speed control option i guess, if you werent going to use it.

Well tell me claudio how will you wire in or make the OMP work in place of the idle motor control?

You didnt read the post right, we said that there could be a "frimware" update in the future that would allow the E6K/X to run the OMP, but right now it doesnt work, you have to premix 2 stroke motorcycle oil in your fuel tank, and i strongly recommend you research the mixture well, cause you can endup cloging fuel filters, injectors, and even damaging the turbo if you put too much oil in the tank.

There is a product sold by pettit recing called Protek-R specifically designed for that job.
