s4 t2 e6x, couple questions
 

Ive been working on my first haltech instal and have come across a few road blocks that i need some help on...this is all on a s4 t2 with haltech e6x. the motor cranks but i cant get it to start.

1. when i turn the key 'on' the main relay clicks but not the fuel pump relay...so its not priming the fuel rail and building pressure. I can jump the relay and i get pressure.
2. when i try and load the map onto the ecu it says 'reconnect haltech', so im not getting power to the computer somehow but i am getting power at the main fuse block.

i figure it is because of the switched ignition sources but ive tried a couple. where do most of you use? any help would be appreciated. i figure its only one or two wires that is preventing my car from starting and its really frustrating. Thank you in advance. :wallbash:

When you turn the key to on can you go online with the ECU?

Check the 3A fuse. Sounds like you're not getting power to the ECU. The power relay is before the the fuse block. You can have the main power relay "click" and still not have power at the ECU. With out power to the ECU the fuel pump relay won't trigger or "click". You will still be able to jump it though.

i am not able to go online with the ecu...when i try an go online it just says 'reconnect haltech'. i have one of thoes screwdriver lookin things with a light inside and a ground connection (not sure what its called)...anyway i put that in all 3 fuses and it lights

The ECU probably isn't powering up. Disconnect the ECU and probe pins 25 and 7. You should see battery voltage with the key on. If you see voltage there plug it back up and probe the orange wire at the MAP sensor. You should see 5V+. If you don't the ECU is probably bad.

i am in columbus and my car is in findlay. i have a friend in findlay helping me when im at school there. i really appreciate the help, i will try that in the next day or so. i was also kinda thinking there was a problem with the ecu itself but its brand new. i really dont want to have to send it to australia

Most repairs can be done in the US now.

Only reason I ask where you're from is because I'm originally from Tiffin. Just down the road from Findlay. Went to OSU. I'll be up that way in a few weeks for Thanksgiving if you need a hand.

i am getting 5 volts at the map sensor, how do i know the pin numbers on the harness clip?

In your manual there should be a schematic. If not you can download it from the Haltech website.

i see in the middle the numbers, is that how they are positioned on the main clip?

edit: the fuses are all good as well

Actually without looking at it I couldn't start to describe the pinout. Pop the gray cover off the connector. That'll allow to see the wire color and know exactly what you're looking for.

I could be wrong about tracing the MAP sensor reference feed. It was my assumption that the ECU would have to power up to allow voltage to pass. Then again maybe not. You could always call Haltech and talk to Matt. He's pretty sharp with this stuff.
