Running a Haltech inside of XP?
So my girlfriend just got a new laptop...2.4gHz and all that jazz...but it has XP on it. Now, as far as I know, theres no way to boot into DOS using XP. Youre also supposed to run the Haltech from DOS, right?
So, my question is could I just run it in XP like I do with the Demo? Or could I run it from a command prompt or something? Or do I have to be in DOS to do it?... |
you can run it fine, but i'm not for sure that the connectivity will work...
|
Well damn...Whats the point of running it if I cant connect with it! :p: ;)

Time to reformat your drive for dual boot
|
So it wont connect in XP?
Formatting isnt an option...Like I said, its my girlfriends computer... |
so far I have not heard of anyone getting the program to work with XP, problems communicating through the serial port. old laptop or long serial cable from a win95 or earlier operating system. 98 may work, but I use win95.

Well damn. Thanks for the replies guys.

i got it to. i created a dos boot disk or something. i did this when helping mike-p-28 on his cosmo powered 1st gen. it was last summer though so i don't remember exactly how i did it now but it is very possible. i also had to lower the connect speed on the serial port i believe. like i said it was a while ago. not sure why haltech doesn't make it more compatible.
