Rear Trailing coil not firing.

Well I got my timming issues fixed and now I wanted to make sure that the rear coil it 180 out but when I connected the timming light to it I get nothing. So the first thing I did was replace the plug and test the ohms on the wire which was 1.8ohms, that should be good. Then fired up the car again still nothing. So then I replaces the iginter and tested the rear coil double checked all the wire connection from the CAS and the igniter to the coils every thing looks good but still not picking up any signal with the timming light. Now sometimes if I wigle the clamp I might get a light flicker from the light buts that is it. If I hook up the clamp to any of the other wires the light works fine.

Now is this a normal thing? could I have a bad wire?

Which ECU are you running?

Do you have access to an Oscope?

If we know the ECU, then we should be able to get to the bottom of this, no problem...

OH yeah, My Bad. E6k

What is a Oscope? is that used to track voltage in a line.

Are you sure the trailings are not firing?
Or is it just the timing gun is not firing?

Pull the spark plug boot off the coil tower - don't pull it all the way or you get zapped with about 30k volts!
Pull it just a little and you should hear the spark firing.
If you don't hear the talltale TACK-TACK-TACK sound, then it's truly not firing.

Inductive timing guns have a very hard time triggering off the stock coils, especially the trailings...

you know I never thought of that pulling off the plug but I will do that. Like I said I went throught the wire so it has to be good. I kinda figured it had to be low voltage that the timming is just not picking up.

Also, this is a trick to get the timing gun to fire...

Pull the spark plug boot off just a little.
The wider gap actually helps the timing gun pick up the coil firing.
