PS1000 with LS2 truck coils or bosch??
 

Im switching over from a microtech to a haltech Platinum1000 very soon. I have 4 LS2 truck coils with the harness for them. I am noticing they have 4 wires going into the coil plug. what would be the best way to wire these into the haltech?

Another option is the bosch he715 coils a lot of people use. these are most commonly used with the microtech setups. great coils, easy to wire in, but from what i gather not as strong as the ls2's.

anyone got a diagram to wire the ls2 coils? feedback if anyone has used both of these with the ps1000?

No need for the resistor with the Haltech. You can ground pins A and B to a common ground. Usually the engine head or rotor housing.

You mean capacitor? Lol. The capacitor does help even though you'll never notice it. It helps absorb transient voltage spikes and keeps noise outta the power line. Only one is needed if the power lines are all connected near the coils. Or one for each of running individual power wires.

The best place to get these caps that can handle the automotive environment is off older fords that run the edis system. They are usually bolted to the coil packs on em.

Are those caps necessary? Ive always used fc coils with the microtech so this LS coil thing is all new to me! Thanks

Like i said you may never notice a diff with them or without them. Although in a noisy(rf noise) enviroment, it can't hurt.

Get the gm factory harness that plugs into the coils. Then you will have a large plug that is easy to do the pinout..


I run a setup really similar to this one. And my PS2000 wires are attached to the female end of the large white plug.

I wonder if that harness would connect to Aem coils?.I just wired mine in and it looks Ok but not "pristine".

If the plug is the same as the LS coils then I imagine it would. I pulled mine from ls1 coils and put them on my LS2 coils. Same thing really..
