Possible to use Microtech Harness with Haltech Elite 1500?
Hey guys, i currently have a Microtech LT-10S on my 95 FD single turbo. i'd like to upgrade to a Haltech Elite 1500, i'm curious if its possible to reconfigure the microtech harrness and pin it into the haltech ECU connector, or build a patch loom. it seems all the basic sensors needed are there. in theory this would be alot easier then rewiring the engine with the haltech universal harness.
any advice or help is appreciated.

Just look at the wiring diagram of all the Elites. You'd have to add ALL but one of the aux ins/outs should you want to use them and any of the other expanded functionality into your loom. If you don't need that sort of thing just it seems silly to spend $1500 on a 1500 when you could get away with a 750 or even a 550.

i'd love to hear from someone who has successfully adapted a Haltech by re-pinning a Microtech or similar harness.

It's literally looking at the diagrams and adapting:
Microtech (top to bottom) -> Haltech (standard base map configuration)
1. Battery + -> B11 (ECU Power)
2. GND -> A10 (Battery Ground)
3. GND -> A11 (Battery Ground)
4. FPR -> A24 (DPO5 - Fuel Pump)
5. 5V -> A9 (+5V DC - 5V Sensors)
6. TPS Signal -> A14 (AVI10)
7. Air Temp Sensor - B3 (AVI7)
8. Water Temp Sensor -> B4 (AVI8)
9. Front Primary -> A19 (INJ1)
10. Rear Primary -> A20 (INJ2)
11. Front Secondary -> A21 (INJ3)
12. Rear Secondary -> A22 (INJ4)
13. IGN On -> A13 (+12V IGN in)
14. Leading Ignition -> A3 (IGN1)
15. Front Trailing Ignition -> A5 (IGN3)
16. Rear Trailing Ignition -> A6 (IGN4)
17. Tacho -> A18 (DPO1)
18. Crank Input #1 -> B1 (Trigger)
19. Crank Input #2 -> B2 (Home
20. Oxygen Input -> AVI6 (Narrowband O2 1)
21. Aux Out -> Depends on how your rig is configigured.
22. Aux In -> Depends on how your rig is configured.
The only things that I could see that may be an issue is how the LT-10 harness distributes power to the Injectors (Pin A26 on the Elite), and how the LT-10 harness distributes sensor grounds (Pins B14, B15 and B16 on the Elite). Also unless you've got it rigged as a third party setup (or are using the single Aux Out on the LT-10) you wont have boost control, Vehicle Speed, Idle Control, A/C Control, Fan 1 and 2 Control, Fuel Temp Compensation, etc. Since its single already I'm sure you already know that.
In my opinion it isn't worth the gutting of your functionality to rely on a 22 pin harness.

Like dguy says, It's not worth upgrading to the Elite if you're going to use the same harness. The Microtech is a basic ECU that works best for full throttle runs in a boosted scenario (I.E. Drag Racing). The Elite has more built in features that you can take advantage of with some new sensors and a custom engine loom. I'm working on replacing a Power FC right now and am getting a new custom engine loom from LMS-EFI, Chris is full of knowledge and I've nearly made all the decisions after reviewing options and having a couple discussions that he needs to begin building the harness which will be PnP.
Another thing I'd suggest with your Microtech is to look at how it is wired into the factory harness. It is likely it's just scabbed into it so if you switch additional work may be necessary.

I think i got the information i was looking for... not worth keeping the microtech harness. thanks for all the input,
i took a look on LMS-EFI's website and didnt see any PnP 13B REW Harnesses. if you dont mind me asking, how much is that running you? might be a good alternative vs the universal harness if the price is right.

so i just visited Haltech's website and it looks like they offer a complete PnP terminated Series 6-8 wiring harness now, don't recall them offering that when i looked a few weeks ago but it looks like the best option.
