Not Getting Wideband Readings
 

I know the E6X has the capacity to register a wideband signal (PLX M-300) but for whatever reason mine does not seem to be a big fan of doing so. Is the signal wire only made to carry up to 1 volt? I've tried various configurations in closed loop and it just doesn't seem to register. I have not turned on closed loop yet but I wouldn't imagine that it would have to be to get the signal to register in my data logs. Anyone have anything to say on the subject?

The O2 input wire is capable of reading 0-5V. You have to configure it as such however. If you aren't going to use closed loop use the Spare A/D input and configure it for Uego In. This will do the voltage conversion for you and display the actual A/F ratio.

I think I'll want the ability for closed loop eventually. Is that possible without splitting the wire?

Just take the 0-5v output from your WB, feed it through the signal wire on the O2 connector on the Haltech, set the type of sensor you are using and voltage range on the closed loop settings, its possible that you will need to filter through the different sensor types to get it to work, i recommend starting with the "Standard" setting with the voltage set to 0-5v.

I've experimented with this a little using my LM-1 wideband.
Actually - I like open loop better - But......

Just be sure that the main ground wire to the haltech (hopefully a BIG wire) is the SAME wire that powers your wideband meter.
(Put a splice in the GND wire near the haltech and connect your wideband GND wire at that point)

In this way you could be more sure that the GND reference for the haltech and wideband is the same.

a few hundred millivolts IS a big deal and grounds from two different points in a car can easily differ by a few hunderd millivolts.
