At a red light car died. Got a laptop to see what's wrong, no RPM signal. Pulled the CAS and spun it to check. Think the wires came loose or something. Gonna go through the harness tonight and see if anything is wrong. Anything I should look for?

Sprint RE

Trigger since last home -1. No movement. Went through the harness and found nothing wrong.

Do a continuity test on all four wires between the ECU and the CAS. Also, with the ECU disconnected, check for continuity to ground and 12V+ on all four wires. It's possible one or more of the wires has shorted to ground or positive. If continuity checks out, try a different CAS. If you still have nothing, send the ECU in and have it tested. I've never heard of one that just stopped working on the crank/cam pickup like that but it's always possible.

Harness has continuity.

You say test 12v with ground? Is that the red|red/white and black|black/white wires? And the ecu disconnected from the harness?

Try lowering the voltage threshold in the 100 to 1500 rpm range. Try half the voltage values. Seen a few loose rpm single when the CAS gets hot.

Still no RPM signal. Tried another CAS. checked all the wires. dont know whats wrong.

Really dont have time to send ECU to Haltech. My RX7 is my only car.

All the counters are 0.

He's asking you to check each of the CAS wires for continuity to ground and for evidence of 12 volts, which are two different things. One checks to see if any of the wires are accidentally grounded out and the other checks to see if any of the wires are accidentally receiving 12 volts.

Ohh OK.

With the ECU disconnected from harness. I check each of the 4 CAS wires the yellow and green to the black chassis ground, the blk/white signal ground, and the 12v power.

There was NO continuity.

I attached the ecu to the harness and check again. There was some continuity with the trigger (-) to the ground ans the trigger (+) to the 12v.

You need to check the red and blue as well.

Checked the Red and blue. Red in both cords has continuity with the red 12V. And the Blue has continuity with ground.

It's supposed to be that way right? Talked to Haltech they said that the chip could have gone bad however unlikely that may be.

Wish I had another ECU to plug in and test real quick. Don't want to have to ship my ECU to Haltech.

Sounds like it needs to go in for testing/repair. Did you try another CAS? They never go bad, but it's worth a shot.

Getting my Sprint back from Haltech. The trigger chip was fried.

Anyway can somebody check out my maps specifically the timing map. Just want everything to be good before I get back at it.
