Yeah, they've taken out the CAN output wires and put them on a separate plug on the side there, to connect the ECU directly to the Dashes, AIM and Racepak.

CAN do!

No more tearing apart a harness to connect the dash!

EDIT:

COMING SOON, JANUARY 2009!!!

The Haltech Platinum Sport 2000 ECU is an EMS capable of controlling sequential injection on 4,5,6,8 and 10 cylinder applications. With 14 channels capable of controlling injection and ignition duties, the Platinum Sport 2000 can support most modern engines with multi-coil ignition systems, as well as conventional distributor ignition systems. In addition to controlling fuel and spark, the Platinum Sport 2000 can control various auxiliary engine functions such as:

- Stepper motor and BAC/IAC closed loop Idle Control
- Closed and Open Loop Boost Control
- Soft cut rev limiter
- Tuning via TPS with Manifold pressure correction
- Closed Loop O2 AFR Control
- 32x32 mapping structure
- On board data logging (up to 200 samples per second)
- User definable mapping points
- Numerous correction maps to ensure smooth drivability under varying operating conditions
- The ability to calibrate just about any sensor for OEM applications and of course all the usual outputs you would expect to find in a Haltech engine management system.

The Platinum Sport 2000 features the following:
- NEW Haltech ECU Manager Software!
- USB Communication
- Internal MAP Sensor (2.5bar / 21psi)
- Same connectors and pins as E8/E11 for easy plug-in upgrade

Features
Includes:
Platinum Sport 2000 ECU Programmable Computer
USB cable
Main Wiring Harness
3 Power Relays
Programming Cable
Fuse Block Assembly on Harness
Programming CD
Instruction Manual (on CD)
Haltech Sticker

I would love to see it work nativley with CAN capable OBD2 gauge setups such as the SCAN gauge II, http://www.scangauge.com, and others.

I imagine all of the added in car gauges coupled in series to to the ECU.

Now if it had the capacity to interpret a flex fuel sensor..... well at least they are leaving something for the next ECU.

I exchanged emails with Matt at Haltech about this just yesterday. It's something they're looking at. It's on the radar at least. Should be something a firmware update could offer.

Just got an email from Haltech. The Platinums will indeed be available in January 09. They also say that the E8 and E11 will still be available at reduced pricing.

any idea on the cost of these new platinum series? I am trying to decide between an e8 or saving for the platinum series

So what are the advantages of this over an ECU like the PowerFC.

What he said.

fritts 12-28-08 05:58 PM

32x32 maps fuel/ignition/afr
Higher resolution correction maps
Map Switching
Idle Control
Autotune
Closed and Open Loop Boost Control
USB connection
CAN outs for race displays
Analog Inputs and Outputs
Many assignable options to inputs and outputs (NOS, Aux RPM, Anti-Lag, Water Inj, ETC)

It actually does what you tell it to do and you don't need to buy the Datalogit to make it useable. ;)

JdmRX 12-28-08 09:31 PM

The only problem for me would be is that it only goes up to 22 psi. Or are they going to have more upgrades for higher map sensors? i would really like to get it though.

You can use any of the external MAP sensors. The onboard is simply a free add on for anyone that may want to use it.

yeah thewird,

and the software is MILES better than datalogit.

and it has way more features.

and it's just way better

OK thanks, just read it on haltech's site too.

Looking forward to the platinum series haltech....

so is anyone going to offering the plug and play kit like mazdatrix offers with the harnes and sensors, and does anyone know if you can adjust timing on the fly ( via map ) if EGT's get to hot to prevent detonation?

I have never done anything with standalone and just want to make sure I get the right stuff i don't wanna spend 2k and still end up with a blown motor

The patch harness availability probably pre-dates Mazdatrix's involvement and they're certainly not the least expensive place to shop. Any of the Haltech dealers can provide the patch loom. PM me if you need details.

With the E8/11 EGT can be used to offset the fuel map, not the timing. Not sure how the 1000/2000 will work but I would guess in the same matter. Claudio can probably answer that one.

To which PnP are you refering? Mazdatrix sells Haltech products and the S4/S5 Plug ins we have. If you're referring to an S6 PnP that one has been developed but it never made it to production. The main reason why it didnt make was that most people took all the stock stuff off to make their cars single turbo, or, you left the stock twins and you'd need an E11v2 to run it all.

Im sure any Haltech system will be more than capable to control your engine perfectly with no issues, as long as its tuned right.

I have an S4 - N/A
Here is my plan
I bought a Paxton SN89 HO supercharger kit

I want to remove the AFM and run a ambient air intake (lol) in front of rad or in that general area. Also get rid of limited stock pressure sensor and get a MAP sensor (built into the new units)
Going to get a Water-Air I/C kit
Wideband O2 (not sure what brand)
TII secondary injectors & TII fuel pump
Will have AFR gauge, FP gauge, and water temp gauge for W-A IC
May also run IAT gauge and EGT gauge I will most likely get actual gauges so that I don't have to keep a laptop in the car all the time.

I would like to have some sort of relay so that I can get the water and fan pushing the i/c's rad if boost gets to say 3 to 4 psi, if the water temp rises to ? deg also if the EGT's or IAT's get to a certain point, I don't really have to run that setup through the ECU I am sure I can do that with a couple relays in parrallel or something like that...

Now I know the older e8's and e11's would let you add or subtract fuel based on EGT's and IAT's hopefully we can retard timeing with the new one. Although like you said I am sure it will be fine with any ECU as long as it is tuned the right way.

Also one other question I obviously have no knock sensor, I have been looking in FSM's and stuff but nothing has helped. Would a S4 TII knock sensor hook up to a N/A block? I know that it connects somewhere on the drivers side near the oil fill tube but I can't look at mine b/c the car is in storage at the moment. I am sure that I can find a junker or a part out and get the sensor and control box. Just don't know if it will actually screw into the block. I really don't want to get a J&S because those things are pretty pricey.

Well thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Mike

edit: would also like to keep my P/S speed sensing or RPM (not sure which system i have) and my A/C
