For my money I'd go with the E8. The E6X is a good basic unit. It's taken heat for trigger issues. But we've installed several with no trouble. The E8 has more features that are useful and it's not much more money. Variable fuel points and closed loop boost control are nice to have and not available with the E6X.

For a good primer on a Haltech install check out Hitman's site. http://www.hitman.hm/haltech.htm With either you'll be able to delete as much of the stock emission controls and idle controls as you want.

With the E6X you'll need a coolant and intake air temp sensors at a minimum. You can use an S5 TPS in lieu of the Haltech sensor. The S5 piece is easier to mount. The E6X comes with an internal 2.5 bar MAP sensor. You lose some features when using the internal sensor however. With the E6X you also have the option of using any external MAP sensor regaining the use of all functions.

The E8 allows you to program the ECU to use most any sensor. So it is possible to use the stock intake and coolant temp sensors. You will still need a full range TPS so it's either S5 or Haltech again. The E8 requires an external MAP sensor.

With a well setup kit you won't need much more for installation. You'll need some wire to complete the run to the coils on and FC. Solder, heat shrink tubing, convoluted tubing, terminals all make the installation look and perform better and last longer.

Airconditioning with E11V2 & FD ?

Has anyone managed to get their FD Air running with an E11 ?

If so, I'd love to "chat" with you about it please...
