Are map sensor readings real?
1 Attachment(s)
I have just finshed a turbo swap and have been data logging, and I do not know whether my readings are real. I know the TO4E 57 trim .7 AR hot side I'm running is small (ported 13bt 8.5 rotors, J-tech intake, FMIC), but I don't no if I believe I can hit 35 psi@ 4000rpm. My gage never shows that much boost but it's real hard to watch AFRs, the road and the boost gage at the same time. Is there some error in map sensors due to quick pressure changes? I have a HKS log manifold, and HKS standard wastegate (40 mm), and the wastegate is working and on slow boost increase does a good job of keeping me in the 10-15 psi range.
My main question is do I belive the map sensor and go for a way bigger turbo or at least a larger AR hotside? https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1229288314 |
You are not hitting those boost levels. Are you sure you have selected the correct map sensor in the map?

What does the data page read while the engine is running? Did you use the version of Halwin that matches the firmware installed on the ECU?

Sure that's PSI?
If that was KPA then I can believe it, easily. As a rationality check, there is no such thing as -75psi, or for that matter -75 inHg. Absolute vacuum is -14.7psi and -28(ish) inHg. Absolute vacuum is roughly -95 KPA, and 35 KPA boost is about maybe 5psig. |

Are there any other converson issues I might need to watch out for? The live data display page shows PSI, when I tune using psi on my maps, ect.. I run Halwin 1.26 and the software and firm ware were from the disc/installed when I bought my E6X new last year. |
that looks like e6x, in which case you can't change the shitty datalogging from kpa to PSI (as far as i know)
