Turbo II Haltech Sprint in first gen. sorry for the crappy pic.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...4/IMAG0319.jpg Stock replacement 93'-95' http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...arnesspics.jpg All using Raychem DR-25. Motorsports grade heatshrink. Submerging the harness in fluid be it water or gasoline wont necessarily show a problem. water ingress is something that happens over time and it corrodes the wires and pins. Think of rust for wiring. Split loom is Ok but it is bulky. some lower quality split loom cannot handle the heat in the engine bay. Braided covering is not as bulky, is better visually but can have the same poor quality issues. Make sure you check the heat rating of whatever you are buying before you do so. EB Turbo |
ok guys, i found the holy grail.
CRIMPING, INTERCONNECTING CABLES, HARNESSES, AND WIRING that NASA wrote up. heh. http://www.hq.nasa.gov/office/codeq/doctree/87394.pdf |
Where do you guys learn to wire like that? I'm sure in the catalog I have for an electrical store would have the connectors and such, but do you guys just do trial and error or what?

^ Its called being a rocket surgeon.

This is my chassis and motor wiring (pre firewall obviously) before looming. Ill post an after when its done.. The whole setup is like 75% done and all custom by myself. :) There is zero oem harness and i retained all the lights and wipers and blinkers and the Haltech harness does the motor.

|
Go to keepitcleanwiring.com there some on there
|
I have a big stock of mil-spec circular connectors if anyone is interested.
|
How much, rxspeed? Also, how many pins are they?
|
+1
|
I have many shell size and pin arrangements. what are you looking for?
|
the most common size for bulkheads are usually a 24-61, thats a 61 pin connector in a size 24 shell with 18-22awg contacts. thats what is in that pic above and what i use for firewall bulkheads.

Ill buy one right now. |
75$ for plug and socket with enough pins and spare contacts for a few screw ups. I'll also throw in some blank contact fillers and a few insert/extract tools. PayPal is fitbikeco20@hotmail.com
Pm me your address. Also do you want a flange style with 4 bolts or a jam nut style? |

What comes in that kit. I looked at the link but didn't see an itemized list of what and how much comes with it. Trying tO decide if it's better to buy by the piece or as the kit. Is it just the braided tub or is it heat shrink and everything.
