K - Closed loop when cold...

So, I enabled closed loop and to my amazment it was running closed loop during the warm up period. At least that is what my wideband was telling me.

I would have thought closed loop would be delayed until the car is warmed so it does not screw with the cold enricment. It doing this kinda makes it run bad.

I know closed loop waits two minutes from the point the haltech was powered up...

Any ideas?

Wideband was telling you? The haltech should tell you when it is using the closed loop. There is a realtime % reading on the datapage. I have noticed mine reads 0.2% when it is Not working. After 2min the haltech enables this and is jumps around +/- 6% or whatever you set for limits to and is needed.

It also should not be activated until coolant temps are 140 or 150F.

There is an option called post start temp limit, and another minimum temp. that tell the ECU when to consider the engine for being hot, this will enable the functionality of the feature you are using, wether it be the closed loop, the idle control, or the post start enrichments, you have to tell the hatlech these temps so it knows when to work. If you have too low a temp there it will start to early.
