I've never tuned before.

Okay, I got a laptop and it syncs up with the e6x with no problems. Right now all I have is a map from BDC but I need to tune my vacuum maps badly. I'm still doing the break in and have 500 miles to go on my engine so I'll worry about boost later. Can anyone give me a break down of how to tune the car for highway and city driving? I have a wideband hooked up to the spare A/D input on the haltech and its set to o2 sensor. I'm seeing like 12:1 afr when cruising down the highway and that isn't good times.

12-1 isn't that bad initially. My recommendation would be to take the car to a local TUNER, and have them take care of it... and hopefully would let you ask questions along the way...

This way, both goals would be accomplished...

Adjusting the fuel maps is going to give the biggest changes.
Start adding more fuel - if the car gets worse or doesn't get any better, then start leaning it out.
Remember, in vacuum, you cannot kill the engine if you lean it out too much, so don't be scared to lean it down a lot.

^ I will remember that when i get my E6K back from Haltech.

Get in your car with the laptop, cuise down the highway, keep a steady rpm and load and just go up and down with the bars on each load/rpm point, till you get the AFR you want. 13's for light load and vaccum, mid 12's for moderate power, 12.0 for good power with 93 octane.

Thats all there is to it, if you dont feel confortable doing it, find a reputable tuner that can do it right for you.

David, I'll have at least one car at Automotion next week working on the dyno. If you want to come out and watch and maybe pick up some pointers feel free. I haven't made the appointment yet but it will be toward the end of the week. PM me if you want me to keep you updated.

I believe tomorrow I'm going to bowling green to get JacobCartmill to tune it. But if I have free time I'll definately get over to Automotion and see what I can find out.
