i've never seen this communication problem before

i just got a new laptop and got the software all loaded up and everything..

i've got an e6k here that's fresh from aussie-land getting fixed.

so, i plug in nad it says:

incorrect programmer version
use a later version of e6k programmer.

i don't get it.. same software as before. haltech said they updated the firmware version when they were repairing it.

system series number 10

is there another version of the software available that's just not on their website?

unless you told them to upgrade it, thats really annoying.

GUITARJUNKIE28 04-21-05 09:13 PM

well, it had some primitive firmware version on there before. i just assumed that the 6.34 software would run any of the e6k's... i emailed them and we'll see what they have to say about it.

but when they're talking about the programmer, are they talking about the software i load ontot he computer?

i feel like a noob all over again :p:

When you enable "rotary" mode the ROTARY TRAILING MAP is right there on the Maps menu.

GUITARJUNKIE28 04-22-05 11:57 AM

nope...it's in rotary mode.

I ran into the missing trailing map problem on a new E6X install I did. Everytime the car is restarted the trailing map disappears. To make it reappear I had to go to Ignition Setup and change the Engine Type to Piston. Cycle the key. Go back and change Engine Type to Rotary and cycle the key. The Trailing Map is then accessible. And again, when the system is powered down I lose the trailing map. The ECU still properly controls the trailing spark you just can't adjust it.

haltech has just been going downhill lately. :(

it's sad man, they used to be my favorite.

I hear ya. The next time it's my money it'll be a Motec.
