installing evap system
 
I am looking to reconnect evap system since haltech can control it. I am hoping that this will eliminate the constant gasoline smell when the car's parked at an enclosed space.

I purchased some GM evap solenoid off ebay. I plan to open the solenoid (supply power) when the engine is <3000rpm, decel, and/or idle.

do I have this correct? fuel tank --> carbon canister --> solenoid --> check valve? --> intake tube before? the throttle body.

I especially wanted to ask whether this goes before or after the throttle body and whether check valve is needed since it'll see boost.

You want the port to be between the engine and throttle body. This will assure that it see vacuum.

Ive always wondered if a pressure sensor would be a good thing to incorporate, that way the solenoid only opens if there is pressure in the evap system.

And yes, having this system functioning properly in conjunction with a charcoal canister will almost completely eliminate the fuel smell while sitting.

pressure switch is a good idea to keep on eye on things. ideally, I don't want to open it when the computer is doing any self-closed loop tuning. that leaves me with decel and that's pretty much it, but that would mean that the fuel tank can overpressurize while sitting in traffic or in prolonged idle.. I don't have perfect answer yet. I don't even know how much fuel vapor can affect the AFR. if not by much, I would love to just leave it open during idle, decel, and below 3k rpm which should solve the problem.

I'm currently designing a bash bar to mount all my oversized crap lol. thinking of buying JD2 tube bender to play with. once that's done, I will do some more driving and report.

Actually, I think I was thinking about it way too hard. There's no need to connect it to the manifold. Just going to run to the atmosphere after solenoid with solenoid staying closed when the car is of and open whenever the engine is running. That should fix my problem.
