Im buying a E6X and need some questions answerd
 

I have heard that there have been problems with older haltech ECU's like the E6K.

Have eny one run a E6X and not had eny problems?

It's going to be used on a Singelturbo with high boost.

Is it possible to get a wiering harness that is specialy made for the FD?

Oh and is there a basic map for the E6X so that i can run in my new engine before i get it maped on the dyno?

Hi Jan-Tore,

I dont think that there are any pre-made harnesses for the FD produced. Making it yourself is no problem :)

I think you can load E6K maps and use them.

I know they have wiring harnesses specifically for the FC, I would imagine for the FD as well. I really wouldn't pay for it. IMO it isn't worth it. As far as problems I guess they troubleshot a few things with the E6X. The main difference between the E6K and the E6X, is a few added features they put in, which really don't do anything for rotaries, so it's not that much better. As far as problems yeah the E6X still has its problems, I'm dealing with some now. So if you are thinking that it is completely perfect it's not but it still gets the job done.

Hy guys, just a question because we have Halltech here also and it is know for it's racing reputuation. But normally you can only buy it here as a complete kit (ECU+wiring)

If I understand correctly in the USa they sell harness where you can plug in the original wiring harness of the engine and then conect it to the Haltech ECU, correct?

I just ask this because I know complete Halltech kits cost here over 2000 euro's or wel over 2100$

K2RD is the only shop that offers the harness, and they are very strict about selling it with their Haltech ECU purchase.

If this is for racing purposes, why would a flying lead harness deter you from installing it?

BTW, the older E6K was an excellent model with almost zero problems, so I dunno where you were getting your info from.

Plug in ecu adapters for Haltech ECU's and u dont need to buy the ecu from them!
Gotta agree there i even had a beta version E6k with no issues.

It's just like computers, sometimes you just get a dud.
