how to Haltech the 20B??
Im about ready to drop the 20B in the car how do other people connect the Haltech to it.
Ive been thinking off a E6k + IG5 or daisy chain L and T |

I've heard about running both plugs together but you runn the chance of preignition since now the trailing is firing way first int he cycle because of its location, there is a topic somewhere in the forum about this. I know the link system can run 3 rotors ok, bermuda20b has one. I think the wolf3d or tec can also. C |
None of the good ecu's can do split trailing timing on a 3 rotor, Haltech, Autronic or even MoTeC.
Link may be able to run trailing timing, but with only 6 load points per rpm range i wouldn't wire one to my arse. |
If you run the leading and trailing together you will be firing them together. The trailing will not be 'firing before the leading'. The only problem that arises from firing the L and T at the same time is EGTs increase and there is a chance or preignition if the T does fire before the L. That is why it is recommended on all rotaries to have at least a minimum of 1* of seperation if no 4*.
In the near future someone will come out with a way to use the E6K and the 3 rotor with split timing. K2rd.com does have a 20B and they are running the IG5. Try emailing them and see what they have to say about running the system that way. From what I have been told that is an expensive way to do it, but it is accurate and safe. |
Matt's 3 rotor NOT20B and nuermous other tri rotors weather they be 20b's or custom made 3 rotor engines are running with both plugs firing together and haveing no troubles
|
After talking to the hitman about this, he said that unless you are running huge power (I'm assuming over 550 rwhp), then you don't need to run split timing.
In other words, if you are going to run the stock twins at first, you will not need to worry about trailing ignition. If you are going to a large single turbo, than it would be a good idea to go with some way of controlling the trailings. |
Wait for the next generation Haltech to be released....
|
ok I'll wait. dang I wish they would get a windows ver of their software.
what do you think 20B and single T88 or dual T66? |
Dual 66
|
How would you plumb a Dual Turbo system off a 20b with 3 exhuast ports?
Just something i was trying to wrap my brain around/ |
Have you ever onsidered a Microtech MT-12??
These start from about $2000NZ. Not as good as Haltech but used my many of the top racers in OZ. |

you can use the e6k and the stock cosmo coils and ignitors im told. the trick is getting the coils, they are an arm and a leg new (and anther arm).

ok well, how about a 2000 mpv coil? it is 3 dual post coils in one little unit, and its $80

Wait till you get the link on there!! BBBBBWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAH!! |
