Hooking up A/C to the E8

Anybody know how to do this.

On my E6k I just used an AUX in and PWM4 out. It worked.

Does the same go with the E8?

Also on the advanced section of the main setup anybody know what the Firing order and firing angle is. (The supplied base map that comes with it looks wrong and very dangerous as far as ignition etc.)

Thanks,

Almost done. Just trying to find a fuel injector harness. (5-prong)

Same principle. I actually by-passed the haltech and didn't have a problem.

Really? How did you do this. Would be nice to free up the aux in and a PWM.

I don't remeber if I had to use a relay for this to change the polarity of the activation or not, but its very self explanitory. You take the wire from the harness that would be hooked up to your aux in, and use that to swich a relay which switches the wire that would be connected to the PWM 4 (you may not even need a relay, the a/c cluch itself allready has a relay so its not like your swiching much current).

When you push the button the a/c comes on. the downside is that you can't automaticly have the haltech increase the rpm via a bac or stepper motor. This was not a problem, the bac reacts fast enough to keep the idle from dropping too much though I do keep the idle at about 1K rpm.

The haltech may also (i'm not sure on this, but many oem's do) have the ability to automaticly switch ac off above a pre-set throttle % and or RPM.

I didn't view this as a problem, if I am goint to put the pedal down i turn the AC off.

slo,

You are correct. I think now that this is a waste of an input/output. I'm sure that the haltech just acts as a relay to interrupt the command to turn on and keep on the a/c. or turn off based on rpm/throttle. I think I will just manually turn it off if I want to flog the car:)

Thanks,
Ian
