Haltech Race Pak. IQ3

Anybody have any experience with these? Specs says it can display up to 28 data inputs. Seems like alot considering the Platinum doesn't have that many inputs etc.

For double the money the Race pak IQ3 has more or less the gps as an added feature. Is it worth the extra money?

Just putting together a dream list for an FC race car.

The dash will display that many channels but, as you've guessed, with the CAN input from the Haltech you're limited to what you get from the Haltech. However, with the addition of some of the Racepak accessories you can monitor pretty much anything outside of the Haltech. Those parts do get a little spendy so it's best to run what you can through the Haltech.

The GPS/logger kit not only adds the GPS unit but also the built-in logger. With this unit you can log and do a lot more with the data you can through just the ECU. The unit comes with a data card that allows you to easily pull the data out of the dash and load it into you laptop. There is also serial connection for programming or data download. If you're serious about road racing the logger dash is the one to have.

Thanks for the info. I have an E8 on my street car. Will this work fine with the E8 if I use this ems for racepak rather then spending the money to upgrade to a platinum.

Yes. The E8 uses the same CAN interface.

I've been running mine for about 6 months now in my street FD. Really wish Haltech would setup the inputs up as customizable and then send them over CAN. The universal sensor module costs around $190 for the 4 input version. The Racepak module is much more customizable for things like fuel level. Though I'm using the fuel pressure for my fuel level. I also wish the IQ3 had turn signals setup on it. Daylight viewing is good, night viewing is great.
