HalTecH Installation Guide
Theres is so much information in this board about people wanting to install a haltech for the first time. Why don't we make a list of everything that can stay and go. One for emissions and one for with out. Onless some one has already done this and I just over looked it.

no one has really done a complete step by step instal..i plan to in the comming weeks when i wire up my haltec on my new engine

I ment more along the lines of what you can remove. See my engine caught on fire and I have now pulled it out. While its out I want to know what I can remove on my car and what must stay. Which vaccum lines can go and what else must stay in the car.
Can I leave the meetering oil system in the car and just let in run on safe mode disconnected from the ecu permently? Or will it be to much oil or to little? TanXs 91 turbo |

Do you have a grasp of basic fuel injection and engine control systems? Do you have any idea what it takes to tune a stand-alone EMS unit? Are you paying someone else to install and tune? You're asking waaaaay too general and vague questions.  You might want to give us more info the next time around... -Ted |
Sorry your right Ted. I don't care about emissions. I would prefer to not use a pre-mix soloution but if it ends up being the easyest then maybe I must.
As far as knowledge goes I'm not sure. Mechanicaly I think I'm pretty could but electrically I'm not. But my father is so I'm not to worried. But no I have no ecu tunning experience and I wasn't planning on having some one else install it. -Do you have a grasp of basic fuel injection and engine control systems? Yea I haven't really been stumped yet. I've never seen a mechanical version of the oil mettering unit though. TanX's |
