Haltech Help please, no spark while cranking.
i have a "88 TII, with a haltech e6x. The car does not have any spark while cranking. but if i bump start the car it fires and starts up and runs perfect. Does anyone know what might be the issue?

check your 12 volt source... verify that it has 12 volts when the key is in the crank position
12v source is from the battery its getting 12v if not more, and the car itself is getting a jump start from another car
What he means is verify that you have 12V on the gray power up trigger. It needs to be wired to a switched 12V source that has power while cranking the engine. It's a common mistake to wire it to something that drops power while cranking. When viewing Halwin while cranking does the status bar at the bottom go from Online to Offline while cranking? Do you have an RPM signal while cranking?
yep, sounds like a bad switched 12V source. I use the 12V from the auto adjusting suspension plug near the strut tower, works perfect
nope, i already thought of that issue, so i hooked the grey wire straight to the battery too, still nothing, however i just looked at the wiring diagram on the haltech website for the E6X and it says if using low impendence injectors to switch the main 3a fuse to a 10a, imma try this, you guys think this might be the problem. not enough power going through the fuse or its causing resistance?
if you can start it by bump staring then i doubt it is a fuse amp size issue... if the fuse was too small, it would just pop the fuse... plus the injectors don't have anything to do with the coils...
you say you put 12volts stright from the battery to the coils and you still dont have spark while cranking??? ... are you getting an RPM signal while cranking ???? you should be seeing 250 to 300rpm while cranking... if not, then you still have a 12volt supply issue under cranking |

no, the grey wire is hooked up straight to the battery, im not getting any rpm movement at all.

If you see no rpm on the data page and you're sure the Halwin software is staying online while you're cranking the engine and you can bump start the engine and it will run at that point you have a trigger issue. Most likely you will need to adjust the gain settings. It's a common issue and a search of this forum will provide a long list of posts on the subject.
