Haltech Headache

So I have been messing around with the new 1.89 software. it was all good until I tried to calibrate the MAP sensor. It was off by a few lbs and figured i could remap the calibration so it would be perfect.. I entered the map pressures and corresponding sensor voltages in the boxes... hit apply and an error popped up, i then hit ok and the software locked up, so i rebooted the computer and now i can no longer connect to the ECU:wallbash: . I turn the key on and the fuel pump does not prime... nothing.. nadda... ziltch... WTH:scratch:

any ideas?????

I had some weird problems when setting up my map. It wouldn't generate the numbers so i just got the numbers from 1.71 and copied them. I have not had anything as extreme as you though.

yeah, i had it running pretty good yesterday. Only needed to make a few adjustments to the battery map and there was a dead spot in the throttle pumps which i attributed to the TPS calibration which i made changes to this morning...

then i noticed the MAP sensor readings were a little off... and thats when i had problems, so i double checked the power leads and fuses... swapped out relays

I'm stuck :dunno:, I guess tomorrow i will pull the ECU and check for a melted circuit board, but i just don't see how this error would fry a ECU... maybe the firmware is toast and needs to be reset:Wconfused

wait, the map sensor was off versus what?

Was it showing something other than zero with the engine off, this is normal.

It cannot be fixed in calibration because there is nothing to fix.

no, I was comparing both the boost gauge and Haltech readings to a snap-on vacuum gauge and they both showed different reading then the snap on gauge. The Haltech was only off by a 3 to 4"Hg, so i figured i would mess with the settings

It doesn't matter what halwin translates the MAP sensor readings too, all that matters is that the sensor is consistent and that things don't change after you tune them.

The map sensor is especially sensitive to calibration changes, because after you make them halwin re calculates the load points. Thats what the map sensor reading mean to halwin its the load half of the address for all the active maps.
