vista.. if it is a bug this end
then i have 7 on the other partition but im held out in boot with a keyboard it wont recognize

might have to format over the vista to get it to boot on the 7 on default

Haltech has noted the Win 8 issue. Should be a fix in the first update due shortly.

When installing anything haltech on Vista or newer, always right click the .exe file and tell windows to "run as administrator". Also, on 32bit machines that let you install old halwinx/halwin programs make sure to right click on the desktop shortcut and turn on the "run as administrator" option. Will work properly and not consider the comm port traffic a problem or threat and block it.

Finally, in some cases, putting the installation program folder directly on the /root (or C:\ ) and not in the My Documents folder is another thing that fixes your not a valid win32 application. For some reason the old stuff never like being buried in too many folders.
