Haltech Engine protection

Need some recommendations on setting up the Engine protection feature. Here are my current settings.

What I would like to achieve is when I am in boost, if my AFR's go lean, allow the HALTECH cuts boost. By 50% or more... Any other recommendation would help. Here is my Wideband safety's

What you have setup is correct but I go a little more aggressive (level 3) so I don't break anything and have to fix it before it will let me drive it hard.

Here's a screenshot of mine.

Gotcha it! And thank you!

I have the Haltech ELITE 1000 which only lets me set one (1) level of severity.

According to your settings, you cut boost 100% and add 1 % of fuel (Target Lambda enrichment)?...

Regarding the Target Lambda Enrichment, I wasn't sure what to put there. The Haltech Base map for the FD has it set at 10%, I remember I hit a DTC while ago due to me leaning out under load and my car bogged and flooded after.

I will make the adjustments.

Thanks again......

That's an entire AFR Point, like 14.7:1 to 13.7:1, not 1% of fuel.

I'd split the difference at:
  • 0.5 Points of AFR
  • -60% Boost Correction
  • 5* Retard Ignition
  • Ignition Cut Type
  • 3000 RPM.

-60% boost correction on the copemobile still has him at 20+lbs, so it makes sense for that car to be full cut to spring. How much you trim here really depends on what your gate spring pressure is and how much controller you're running with the ecu. Cutting -60% wont do squat if you aren't running 60% above the spring pressure.

Just sayin, need to know what the setup is to make an accurate recommendation...unless its stupid high boost at which you full cut if anything goes outside the planned range.

I am going to do a full cut. I am boosting 25psi.... But regarding the target lambda enrichment that makes total sense now.

Thanks again.

Full -100% boost correction will just drop you to whatever your wastegate spring pressure is.

Okay. That is fine. My WG spring is @12psi.

This is why I was wrong above. I would have expected a lower spring rate and should have asked first. Hell yeah +1 to -100%, not -60%.

Thanks again!
