Copied from my email to the HaltechDiscussion email list.

OK guys, it's official. Haltech has given me the OK to annouce the release of the new E11 engine management system. The full release is slated for September 10th when it should be available from all dealers. Here are the specs that I know alot of people have been waiting to see. For those of you who rememeber when I was asking what features you would all like, you can see why now.

Basic Specs of the E11

* Full 32 bit system

* Comes with mil-spec wiring

* CAN support

* Injection time down to 0.004ms , ignition timing down to 0.1 degrees.

* Idle control has a tonne more features.

* 3-rotor AND 4-rotor full support. The 20B is completely covered and will run staged and sequential injection along with 6-coil direct fire ignition with full 32x32 map for trail split timing control.

* Dual on-board maps are directly supported.

* On board datalogging. No need for a laptop to be connected to do datalogging. Log rate up to 250 samples per second !!!

* Boost control is 3D mappable.

* Many more trigger systems covered, with an updated internal RA system as well. Motronic support built in.

* 5x Digital Inputs , 4x dedicated PWM with spare outputs available, 2x AuxOuts , 8x Spare A/D inputs.

* Software comes on CD and manual comes in PDF format.

* Many more features to come in future as firmware updates.

-----

* No, you cannot upgrade your E6K to E11

* No, the connector is not the same. E11 uses two connectors.

* No, there are no trade-ins.

* Sensors are the same , but the connector pack may change.

Phewww , taking a deep breathe after getting all that out. :-)
There is alot more but it would take me ages to write it all out. Anyone intersted in getting the E11 can drop me a personal email.

Any other comments.

BTW, I only jump on this forum once a fortnight or so. If you have genuine questions please email me.

I do have local pricing, but not US prices as yet.

MIKE-P-28 Aug 29, 2002 08:33 AM

Damn Matt thats NICE!

The reason I didnt consider a 20b , was the fact of lack of engine control options I had out there.. Looks like the e11 will make controlling the 20b a snap :)

When the convertible motor goes out, I think I'll try my hand a 20b :)

Node Aug 29, 2002 08:47 AM

OMFG!
That is the most beautiful thing I have ever read in my life
How much is the pricing going to be (and options for it) in AUD?

Node Aug 29, 2002 09:08 AM

Oh, and I can't wait to demo the software :D

One thing, when you say "duel on-board maps supported", do you mean i can have 2 maps and swtich between them, as in a "Race" and "Street" map?

kabooski Aug 29, 2002 12:55 PM

Will the Halwin be available for E6K?

j9fd3s Aug 29, 2002 01:00 PM

hIGGI Aug 29, 2002 01:51 PM

so what will be price in AUD Hitman ?

WAR300 Aug 30, 2002 05:28 AM

>Will the Halwin be available for E6K?

Not until after the E11 is released. Not sure how long after.

>so what will be price in AUD Hitman ?

I aint Hitman, but I know US pricing not finalised. Lets say from what im told its going to be very competitive. Well under the Motec price tag.

MSpeedRX Aug 30, 2002 06:24 AM

Heya Kris

PM me with price and any info u got :) Or email me.

The_HITman Aug 30, 2002 07:50 AM

OK, to clear up a few issues that have been floating around.

Sydney, Australia - locals can get the E11 from Sept 1st but it is only available as a bets test unit. Full release is Sept 10th. Pricing will be given to those who ARE locals and are ready to buy.

US - full information will be available shortly as will be pricing. Lets just say it wont be as expensive as you may be thinking. The price difference between Aust and US will narrow significantly. Don't bother asking Haltech USA just yet about prices or availability as they dont have stock yet. Either does Australia. Stock is the reason why the release date is Sept 10th.

No, the E6K is not superceded and if you car runs fine why both upgrading. if you cannot tune your E6K, then the E11 is going to be a big challenge. Lots lots more to setup and tune.

Dual map is exactly that. Selectable on the fly. You can have a pump fuel map and a race fuel map, and just flick a switch to activate it even while driving. The E6K has already got this feature done but it has not been released until all the bugs are sorted out. As you can see the E6K is not dead and buried, it is still being developed further.

MSpeedRX Aug 30, 2002 08:38 AM

Can you say whether the new software will display the fuel/ign maps in a 3d graph like Motec, Autronic, Wolf etc as opposed to the 2d bar graphs?

hIGGI Aug 30, 2002 11:34 AM

I haven`t asked for US price coz i`m not in USA and not will be buying it there...so whats AUS price ?

Bruno Aug 30, 2002 09:48 PM

How long

How long do you think we shall wait for the bugs to appear, and buy a good version software. If we buy it now I am sure we might be desappointed, becouse of the future bugs, or Is haltech going to give us an updated version of the software as they appear( not happening with f-10 f-9 or e6k for example?
BY the way who is the new owner now????

Node Sep 3, 2002 10:32 AM

What's CAN?

j9fd3s Sep 3, 2002 01:54 PM

I was thinking the same thing. I was thinking i would be all set buying an E6K and hopeing to find a base map to tune from, but if i went E11 i would have no base map, unless you could convert/export a map over. I really wouldnt want to have to start from scratch, the closest dyno to me charges 100+ an hour to dyno tuning

* E6K maps can be imported. Because there is a ton more setup features you will still need to go through it all and double check everything.

* A base map library comes with the software.

* I am not giving prices until there are some units to sell. Have to wait until its out. Expect AROUND the US$1500 mark, but it could be up or down from that.

* Updates will come as they are done. They are still bug fixing now.

Haltech is still run by the same management. No changes.

cool, number one is a huge time saver, and number 2 is the part they need to take their time on.

ok, my hybrid and other stuff should be here by 18-20th, can`t use it without haltech.......i just can`t wait ;o)

Directfreak Sep 6, 2002 06:57 PM

I have heard from a good source that this is BS. The E11 is not ready and not coming out soon.

Can anybody confirm that it really is? With proof?

Proof?

I am not trying to be an ass or anything. My source has been in direct contact with Haltech USA and Haltech Aus for years.

According to him, the E11 has been in the works for years. The specifications that have been posted have been out for years as well.

They have said the E11 is coming out on a certain date several times before, and still nothing.

On top of that, with all the present problems Haltech is going through internally with the family and the power struggle within - I would think that they would not keep working on Product development if they don't know what is going to happen to the company in general.

Hey, I hope you can prove me wrong. I have an E6K myself. But unfortunately, I don't want everybody to get excited for something that may not happen.

Brad Sep 7, 2002 02:23 PM

Uhhh, I think HITman's word is all the proof I need
