going with haltech E6K

Where is the cheapest place to buy one? I am sick of the piggyback systems, and want the stand alone. What will be the total price for one with the 3bar sensor, and the flying lead, and what ever else I will need. So far I have found Hitman, K2rd to be the cheapest.

What is the average install time for a average mechanic. I don't want my car to be down for a month.

Has anyone tried the plug in harness that k2rd sells? On an FC.

Thanks for any help.

no one will share their secrets.

well i aint an average mechanic, not even a mechanic but i reckon i could do an install in a day (tidy install)

could have a car running in a matter of hours, wiring wouldn't be the flashest though hahaha

its a GO CAR, not a SHOW CAR

Average mechanic?&nbsp Are you good with electronics and wiring?&nbsp One day is more than enough...

The Haltech has little to do with what a mechanic will do. It is more a electrical thing. You will find a person more qualified to install a Haltech at a stereo shop as oppposed to Jeff's lube n tune.

Good to hear. I will probably ask for the assistance of a friend that I work with that is an electrician. That would be great to get it done in a day.

Umm...now where to get one? HWO I know you know where to pick these up for the best price. It looks like around 1100 is the best price Ive found.

What other parts do I need, like block off plates, things like that. This is on a 87TII. I still have all my emmisions stuff on.

Check the post about cheapest Haltechs in the world.

if not www.k2rd.com has a good price

live4boost 03-11-02 09:39 PM

hey 1000hp20b, if I bought the first kit that you mentioned on that post for 850, what else would I need? I was thinking it might be cheaper to buy that kit then get the sensors through k2rd. Or would it be cheaper and better to get the fully terminated loom with all the sensors for 1100? Please help, I want to order it next week.

For anyone that cares; the person at rpm(I forget the exact name) are very nice and helpful.

I talked to Tim of http://www.RPMperformancecentre.com.au the other night and ordered an E6k from him, its on its way, the price and service so far is much better than what I get from local shops. He is half way around the damn world, but his communication so far has been better than that of shops 20 miles from me..I will be buying more from him..Max

live4boost 03-17-02 02:12 PM

did you order the fully terminated loom and all sensors. Thats what Im ordering next week. Tim is a very nice guy and helps out a lot. Best costomer service that Ive recieved from a shop. Hope you like yours.

Maxthe7man 03-17-02 03:34 PM

He talked me into the fully terminated loom, but suggested a way to shorten it up and get rid of the extra wire, I went with the complete whole shibang, sensors, relays, etc etc.. I just tracked it, it should be here tomorrow or the tuesday..Max

live4boost 03-20-02 06:45 PM

Max you get it yet?

I just sold my 87 for a 91, so as soon as I get the money from my old TII....I will finally get the haltech. YAY
