15% for 10 cycles is a good number to start with on the staging enrichment

WELCOME back dude, still cant believe you went V8!!

Anyways, for those that are not running ID injectors, and wish to go the VE route on an Elite, what do you suggest as far as getting the correct data?

going rich or lean for the half a second after staging is fixed with the staging enrichment and duration, but outside that .5 sec is it all down to the dead times, and if they are incorrect it will not work properly IE put the dead times off ID's website and you will have issues
It's well documented data, I don't see your point. The M800 will run an injector at 1A, as will your Elite. In fact, you can set everything to match up exactly, but it's simple V = IR.

The problem, as stated about 5-6 months ago was that the injectors in the OP's Primary Slot were NOT IDs and the deadtimes set for primaries were for the IDs. Since the correct part was installed, there's zero issue. You would have been better off at least reading a page back and not being such a lazy **** before commenting on your proposed solution.

For those NOT running ID, you should probably set up a bench with fuel pump, FPR, Filter, ECU, pipettes, multimeters, and bring some patience. Ohh, and when you see the difference from injector to injector on your generic units, you might want to input that as ECU data as well to try and smooth things out.

It'll look like this, except for doing injectors instead of coils:

I wanted to go fast and not be rebuilding engines every 3 passes, that's why we went to a big block, did 50 hits before pulling it out for a set of rods,

you have no choice but to use VE on the elite when using stages of injectors, its very very simple, set the dead times to give you around 50 at idle, then get the staging setup straight away, that will tell you how far off you are, most of the late model high impedance injectors will be between .8ms and 1.3ms dead time.

you seem to be one of those people I'm referring to as a copy and paste tuner.. nice work keep on keeping on, ill tell you again just so that it might get through your thick head that the published dead time data will not be correct when used with a elite,

You seem very quick to judge, but that's what happens when you only read the last post of something instead of doing any form of research or gathering data. I am a lot of things, but copy and paste is not one of them.

Injector Dynamics is one of the few companies out there that is entirely transparent with their customers. They give data and have an amazing support group of engineers and racers alike who can and will help you setup a vehicle for your needs (even without using their products). You may not perceive it that way, but that's how it is.

Your point about the data being different from a Motec to a Haltech is irrelevant since the injectors again weren't even IDs to begin with, which is what caused the issue with the secondary transition. You could say the same about people running a different fuel pressure regulator, in which case that physical portion would be incorrect as you do pressure changes. If you aren't on a Weldon A2047 with a Ti 10 Bar pressure sensor, then you're probably not gathering data correctly either...

Let's all just shut up and wait for Havoc to report back with his updates. This is his thread and I'm tired of mucking around in it.

Also if you buy the Iq3.... make sure you get the haltech one... Need to buy a adapter now
I should note this is running 4x1700 now. So idles fine on 1700's in the stock locations on E85

Not to be disparaging to our rotary based forum, but does the Haltech forums have more rotary owners active and are you guys on it as well for feedback?

Im on the fence for picking up the 1500 for when I go single mid 2019 but have the power fc locked in for my car, but like the various benefit the Haltech has for engine protection on a bad tank of gas and such. But I do t want to be 2 years in like this thread trying to figure it out so is there a resource bank like our yahoo datalogit email support group that helps get things figured out?

The help here has been great. but when I get stuck the Haltech team have been excellent!

I use to be a micrtotech user but so glad I switched over. Ive enjoyed the learning process with the haltech units

Thanks! I’ve been seaching the Haltech forums as well for rotary related items to familiarize myself before I purchase the 1500 in the spring. Looking forward to having some engine saving parameters in play with the new system but with anything, going from something I’ve used and know with the Power FC for 15 years, a little hesitant until I get used to the new one.

My advice is to search out a reseller that provides excellent end user support and rely on them and not a forum for that support. That will get you sorted out much more quickly than relying a users that may be feeling their way through the dark as well.

Good to see you're back at it after the down time! I hope to be as well in the next few months. Any new tuning goals for the car for 2019?

Skeese, plan was just to get the car drivable. Im moving to Melbourne from Perth (2100 Miles away for you US guys). So have now landed. Once I get a house and the family set up I'll decide if the car comes over.

Once thats all done, would love to hit 500 at the rears. but will just wait and see.

still a bit or wiring to fix up. fix up the steering, just small bits and pieces I didn't have time to fix in getting ready for the move.

Skeese,

thanks for following up.
Yeah moved to Melbourne from Perth. Been here must be 6 months now.

Found a house, found a job. All is going well (Works been a bit more hectic than my last role)

But alas the car hasn't come over. It's just going to be too problematic to get it re-registered. and if we pull the pin and go back in 2-3 years then I need to send it all back to Perth again.
So it's sitting in my father in laws garage.

I miss it like mad!

My wife is due in August as well. So its probably good not to have a distraction at the moments. But I do miss playing and driving it.
I thought about getting another Rx7 while I'm over here. But really I'm catching public transport 4 days a week so its been fine with just the 1 car to date

Regardless. Im going to save up some money, get it to send to a local shop and get them to finish off some of the simple bits I didn't get done before I left.
