E8 (and E11?) decel cut settings
I used to get some noticable bucking when I turned the decel cut on, and it was easy to replicate when decel at the 2,000RPM set point I had it on.
I looked at the default parameters and decided to basically "zero them out", since the E6K had such faultless decel cut with no fancy parameters. My default map had like 8-degrees retard, 0.5 second delay, etc., and I basically set them all to "0". This got rid of the bucking, so this little trick worked. Anyone else mess with these parameters? I also found out my diff mount is almost dead, so this made the bucking even more noisy... -Ted |
I set the decel cut rpm at 3500 with 1 second delay, temp to 170, decel cut enrich to max ( might change this one), and retard to 0, fuel return to 1900.
I mostly use decel cut to zero my innovative 02 sensor down long hills. Recently I put in a kill switch that cuts power to the grey wire, so I don't really need that anymore. Its much more effective to zero while moving with the throttle open all the way and the ecu off so it can't inject fuel. |
3500 sounds awfully high.
I've been trying to get the gas mileage up, since all city driving rewards me with solid 10.5 mpg. :P I've got my cut set at 1800. I've tried lower, but the idle wasn't stable for some odd reason. 1500 was just not possible - it would always die on decel, even though my idle is hard set at 1200 right now (too lazy to readjust the throttle stop). I had added 3% for decel enrich, but this just caused a "hiccup" at 1800 everytime the fuel map kicked back in. I jacked it back down to "0". What proggie version are you using? I think I'm still on the old v1.64. Your version sounds more updated - I don't have separate RPM engage and disengage parameters. Thanx for the reply! -Ted |
I'm using 1.71, I think your version cuts on decel regardless of rpm providing its not below the decel cut rpm after the delay. I had the same experience as you with the lowering the RPM, that is it would die, I was getting bog at and below the cut rpm with the decel cut enrich set to 0, and if I went wide open right as it hit that point it would die, turning up the fuel helped some.
are you using a BAC or stepper motor? If so then those settings could certainly come into play as it hits the idle RPM. I don't think this will have much effect on your gas mileage unless you drive in the hills allot, or do allot of stops from high speed, but it certainly wouldn't hurt. I had some good results using negative split in the high to moderate vaccum ranges. 1.71 also has a feature where it does target afr for closed loop o2 by a map instead of just one number for idle and one for above idle. With either negative split or 0 split it cruises fine at 18:1 anywhere above 3Krpm (stock ports) might be higher with more overlap. I am running open loop up to 35% throttle from 700-5000 rpm with the target afr map on a steady rise 12.5 at idle to stoic at 3200k to 18:1 3500 and up to 5K. This is in high to moderate vaccuum, as it creeps tword 0 it comes back to 13:1 and above 0 it is 12.5 and under. It won't really be active in these ranges much (if at all) because of the throttle % limit. I get better than stock mileage in the city and much better on the HWY. |
Do you guys Have any more info on this?
I saw I am running rich with lm1 on decel. and have not enabled this yet. Found any stable settings? |
