E6X Problems
I have an 91 TII with an E6X I am installing. Here is the problem:
Try to start and no spark and no fuel. I attribute it to something either wrong in the setup or the wiring. I tried 2 different ways to wire the CAS but still no results. Hitman style CAS - Haltech white/black - blue white - red red - yellow green - green and Diagram style CAS - Haltech white/black - red white - blue red - yellow green - green The injectors aren't disabled or anything. :D I am running 550's and 1600's (all low impedance), but I don't that is related. I have checked the ignition wiring and everything else I can think of. I read through the entire Haltech manual. I have tried multiple base maps available online to see if there was a map error or something. Any ideas where to start looking? TIA |

trigger input - int reluctor
trigger gain - 2 motronic mode - off trigger angle BTDC - 65 trigger type - multitooth spark mode - distributor engine type - rotary output type - constant charge output edge - falling home input - int. reluctor home gain - 2 lock timing - off number of teeth - 24 tooth offset - 11 (stabbed CAS like stock) internal toggle - off |
try adjusting the gain to 3

if RPM and timing doesn't change when you turn the key over, it's not getting the CAS

Is the wiring correct to the CAS as shown above? I tried 2 different CAS units and got the same results.
Thanks for the help 93BlackFD |
New updates.
When the CAS is out of the car, and you spin the bottom I get fuel and spark and the ECU registers RPM. When you re-insert the CAS in the engine, no RPM, fuel or spark. Ideas? |
Had the same problem on a buds e6X. Gain was not set high enough( was at 0 now at 2)
Sorry on a friends name....... -1Revvin7 |
Exactly what 1revvin7 said. You need to go to your trigger gains and make sure that both triiger and home are set to internal reluctor. Then set the gains to "2". Also make sure your battery is charged completely. A lot of guys installing the new e6x have found that the stock battery was not providing enough volts while cranking. After setting the gains a battery upgrade has solved the problem on 4 different peoples cars. Try a fully charged battery and higher gains and you will get spark.

Trust me, it wasn't the gains.
I had suggested changing the gains from 0 to 7 - none of it made a difference. Finally, the problem was traced down to a "tired" battery. -Ted |
