E6X issues
 

Been working a bit with Ted on this and am having problems still. In the middle of trying a few things but wanted to see if anyone can throw an idea out that may help solve the problem. The car will crank over and every once in a while sputters but wont start. It's an 87 turbo 2 with low impedence injectors, stock ignition and stock primaries. Running a hitmap map converted to an E6X and verified each value along the way. It did start for a while and then it stopped after I tweaked a couple things completely independent of the ECU.

I have tried:

Zeroing ignition and checking that each plug actually fires (ouside of engine)
locking timing at start up
advancing and retarding the angles
several different gains.
Checked the CAS resistance and cleaned the plug electrodes (stock plug)
made sure that I've got the aux set to ign toggle
Re plunged the cas several times
checked the wiring for the fuel injectors
Made sure I've got all sensors working
Recalibrated the TPS several times (stock tps)
deflooded several times (no plugs in deflooding)
richened the maps
leaned out the maps


Probably a few other things have been done I'm not thinking of as well. I'm thinking maybe some new firmware might help (I'm on version 12) so if anyone has that let me know please. Anyone else have some funky e6X problems that could be related?

Edit: Also like to point out, it looks to be flooding. The plugs come out somewhat damp. Even after this, I did the plug test after torching the tips and they were all firing still without trouble.

What did you tweak?

Check spark plugs after every try to start the car.

Does it come out wet?
Jack down the Primer Map.

Does it come out dry?
Before adding more fuel, I like to use the Throttle Pump to try and get the engine fired.
What you do is *stab* at the throttle while cranking to see if this helps.
If it does, keep stabbing at the throttle, and this adds a little more fuel.
If triggering the Throttle Pump keeps the engine running, go ahead and add more fuel to the Primer Map.

Compression? any way of logging AFR's during cranking? Position of your butterflies too open or too closed?
