E6X closed loop O2 operation??????

I'm using a LM-1 wideband O2 meter and wideband Bosch sensor.
The LM-1 has an output that simulates a narrow band sensor, or any type of sensor.

I set the E6X to respond to a 0-5V input range to increase resolution.
I set the LM-1 output characteristics such that I can run the engine at the lambda I want at cruse and idle without being too close to 0V and 5V.

The E6X has the capability to use the O2 sensor to keep the engine at different lambda values for cruise and idle.

How does the E6X know what is idle??
Is it by the TPS??

Anyway - I wanted the cruise lambda to be 1.1
This is working perfectly.
I set the engine cycles to 5.

For idle I wanted the lambda to be 0.83
Again, engine cycles to 5.
This sometimes works, and my idle is 0.83, but sometimes it tries to force the idle much leaner.

Since I have an aluminum flywheel and I like my oil pressure reasonably high - my idle is about 1700 RPM.

This is a pretty high idle speed and this may be what causes the E6X to not be certain that I am actually idling.

I'm having other effects that make me consider that I really don't want closed loop operation at idle.

Do other people use closed loop operation at idle for rotaries??
How does the E6X know when you are idling??
The manual does not cover that.

Thanks

If you are using an idle speed controller you enter it in there.

You can also set the O2 to a mV for idle...
