E6K N/A maping
I'm looking for some advice for maping a N/A six port 13B motor using an E6K. I know some of you are asking why but in the racing world every little bit helps and removal of the AFM could mean extra hp. I have the unit installed, but the car idles rough, runs poorly above 3500 rpm and is hard starting cold. Any ideas? Would the off boost mapping from a turbo modle help. Anyone wishing to get involved (hands on) is welcome. I'm located in the North East.
Thanks John |
CONTACT CHRIS AT CHECKPOINT ENGINEERING IN SACRAMENTO. HE IS VERY VERY FAMILIAR WITH WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO DO. I KNOW HE HAS USED HALTECH B4 BUT THAT HE PREFERS WOLF.
IF I CAN FIND HIS CONTACT INFO I WILL POST HERE AGAIN. |
Thanks , looking forward to it. I have been hauling the haltech around for a full year now and the only thing it does is control the fan!
BTW is that pic of your car taken at the lefthander @ Lime Rock? |
i would be very interested to hear your results-are you planning to dyno the car after you get it tuned right?

Well, just sounds like you need to tune it.. on an N/A rotary it is fairly safe, to at least play with the fuel maps..
Sounds like you need to modify your coolant maps (this alters your cold start) And you also need to modify your fuel map When in online mode, go into the map you want to edit, and hit the home key.. it will take you to where the car is running now.. if the car is running rich lean it out.. if the car is lean, turn it up.. A wideband O2 sensor would be very helpful if you have access to one.. -Zach |
NA Map
Tuning a turbo car is not much different than tuning a FI car. You do pretty much the same as what those of us with turbos do, except your timing curves are going to be a bit different.
There was a good discussion on the Haltech Support list about NA rotaries a month or so ago. |
Thanks to all. I plan on getting the WBO2 soon in fact I have the DIY one now but am having some assembly problems with it. Might just bite the bullit and get the DFY one. The car needs to go on the dyno and I'll post results. Asimilar set up has shown 229 hp at the wheels so that is the goal
