e6k lean start problem
everytime i start my car in the morning and i press on the accelerator the a/f reads 16.00 and it cuts out real bad. once the car runs for about a minute the cutout goes away, but when it idles when cold the a/f is ok. what would cause this?

Throttle pump coolant correction factor, maybe?
|
I have no idea how to adjust the throttle pump map. I just looked at it a few days ago and figured id ask before i started messing with it.
|
how about the coolant correction map? stock cars generally run a little richer when they are cold

anyone know how to adjust this??
the stock ecu is 0 correction after 65C, so should you |

fire up the car, preferably cold, go to the "coolant correction map" hit "home" and make the number bigger until it runs better. as the car warms up it'll go thru different bars.
the stock ecu is 0 correction after 65C, so should you ok, i will try this thanks! |

if you dropped the coolant correction factor # to zero and it got better, that means everything is too rich... lowering the number reduces the amount of fuel that is added in by the accelerator pumps when you stab the throttle. increasing the number increases the fuel.
this is on the accelerator pump (throttle pumps) page BTW. the accelerator pumps really only work when you stab the throttle or there are quick changes in the map signal (like too quick for the MAP sensor to recognize it) so it reads off of the TPS. i dont think this is the problem unless it's only doing the lean hesitation when you stab the throttle. i think you need to check out the fuel coolant correction page like j9fd3s said. and pressing the home button wont do anything on this page because it's only one range. the little arrow should show you which bar you're at in the fuel coolant map at that current moment in time, so just mess with the bar the arrow is on until you get it smoothed out. |

so increase both the throttle pump coolant correction number and the fuel coolant correction bars.

Yeah, it is when i stab the throttle. The wideband goes to 16.00 and I have to feather the throttle to keep it running until the engine slightly warms up. On idle it works fine.
if its warm you adjust either the main map or the throttle pump (i hardly ever touch the throttle pump map, hint hint) until it RUNS WELL. the wideband will show weird numbers, but its kinda supposed to right there |
I adjusted the coolant correction map and the throttle pump map and still nothing. Wtf is going on???
